Yes, I’m that excited about my cover, ready to celebrate it and all things KILMOON. Not only that, my website relaunched this week AND The Debutante Ball, the group blog for debut(ante) authors, relaunched too. You’ll see me there every Friday. Tomorrow I’ll be talking about the inspirations for KILMOON. Please visit!

Check out my lovely cover — woo hoo! — and enter the giveaway described below to join the running for a $50 Amazon gift certificate.

I love the cover’s moodiness, and the use of the red blood droplets to hint at murder and provide a complementary color to the green. And that old Irish churchyard — perfect! The title KILMOON refers to just such an old relic of a church, Our Lady of the Kilmoon, with her crumbling walls and sea of crosses. Kilmoon is a shady lady, a character in herself, who broods over secrets left behind by visitors to her hallowed grounds. What are those secrets? You’ll just have to buy the novel to find out! (Bwah-ha-ha-haaaaa, says the debuting author). Coming March 2014.

I love the font, too, and…There’s my name! And it’s big!

To celebrate my journey toward publication, I’m offering a $50 Amazon gift certificate. All you have to do is leave a comment below. Say “hi”! The winner will be chosen at random. I’ll announce the winner next week.

  1. Lisa, I’m so proud of you and where you’ve taken yourself. I know it has been years of hard work, dedication, tears of joy and frustration, and glasses of white and red, but the day is finally near.

  2. Can’t wait to curl up for a long weekend read of Kilmoon. The cover is perfection; makes me want to visit, walk amongst the tombs and stay for awhile.

    1. Thanks, Tracy. And thanks for sharing on Facebook! You were there for so much of the revision work and provided such great feedback. I remembered you in the acknowledgments. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you so much, Susan! I appreciate you saying that. The release still seems like eons away–but it’s going to arrive faster than I’ll probably be ready for it, I bet! πŸ™‚

  3. How exciting! Inside my head I’m so curious about how the cover comes to be. I have someone who is supposed to be doing my blog for me and even though I told her about everything I like, gave her lots of examples, and told her the one color I do not like… she comes up with stuff I hate (and I like most things) and uses the one color I told her I do not like. I think I would go insane if a book cover situation like that happened. Luckily, I have apparently no talent for writing things people actually want to read. I don’t have to worry about the cover.

Why can’t they release your book right now? Are you as impatient as I am?

    1. Hi tammigirl, thanks for visiting. I just had my website redesigned, and it can be frustrating. There’s a lot of back and forth, and I think that’s normal. It’s hard for designers to truly read our minds. Though, to use a color you expressly said you didn’t like seems a little weird. πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Natalia — I love it that my name is so big, had to admit. Makes it seem like I’m a “real” author, even though that’s silly…:-) I love the blood droplets too — for the mood and also for the good aesthetic use of color.
